Seventh graders at Samoset Middle School learned about the principles of the constitution and civic activism from some of Sachem’s own local leaders. Suffolk County Legislator Leslie Kennedy and Suffolk County Comptroller John Kennedy visited Samoset to teach students about their roles in local government and the importance of civic engagement. The assembly relates to the Seal of Civic Readiness projects that seventh graders are completing.
