Students During Multicultural and Diversity Week thumbnail216388

Seneca Middle School recently celebrated diversity by creating a Multicultural and Diversity Week with several enriching activities for students to engage in.

Seneca’s Prevention Counselor Stephanie Garcia and the world languages department, composed of Ms. Fernandez, Ms. Laudicina, Ms. Markowitz, Ms. Mazzei, Ms. Mednik, Ms. Meric and Ms. Peguero-Collazo, facilitated the activities, which included designing international menus and learning about world dances in the classroom. An Island Empanada food truck selling empanadas was available, and student speakers conducted daily announcements in their home languages like Albanian, Ewe, Farsi, Spanish, Turkish and Urdu.

Through these enriching experiences, Seneca students experienced many aspects of cultures from around the world.
