On March 5, Sachem High School East’s Advanced Placement U.S. History classes embarked on a historical journey to New York City to explore the rich tapestry of America’s past. They were joined by Ms. Bongiorno and Mrs. Melandro and visited sites to enhance their study of U.S. immigration.

Students first examined the struggles of immigrant life at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. They lunched at the historic Essex Market, visited the Statue of Liberty and got a firsthand look at the gateway to new beginnings, Ellis Island. Each site unveiled layers of the nation's captivating narrative, fostering a deeper understanding of the diverse threads woven into the fabric of American history.
