At the April 16 meeting of the Sachem Central School District Board of Education, students selected for SCMEA Division II and Division III festivals were recognized. Division II is for seventh and eighth graders whereas ninth and tenth graders perform in Division III.

SCMEA is a professional organization that supports school music programs by hosting honors ensembles. Students who score exceptionally well in their NYSSMA festival performances are recommended for SCMEA. Those selected from across Suffolk County come together to perform in concerts each March.
