The Sachem High School East Chapter of the National Art Honor Society recently participated in the Memory Project. The Memory Project is a nonprofit organization that invites art teachers and their students to create portraits for youth around the world who have faced substantial challenges, such as neglect, abuse, loss of parents and extreme poverty.

This year, the National Art Honor Society created portraits of children from Syria. The portraits have been mailed back to the organization, who will then deliver them to the children. The project promotes intercultural understanding and kindness around the globe.
