Sachem High School East held its first Freshmen February this month, created for the freshmen, by the freshmen!
The month consisted of freshmen-themed Fridays including a “Fancy Friday,” “Frozen Friday” and a “Freshmen Spirit Friday” before winter break where students dressed in red, pink or white in honor of Valentine’s Day. Each Friday, there was also a trivia question posted and the winner received a gift card to either the Sachem East School Store or the Eastside Café.
The freshmen class also hosted a pop-up Valentine’s Day shop for all students at East where they sold Valentine’s Day cards, friendship bracelets and lollipops. They had a free Hershey Kiss guessing jar, where the winner won all the chocolate goodies inside. Students also set up a fun, selfie photo station.
Lastly, the class held hot chocolate sales through the Eastside Café. Students were able to pre-order hot chocolate in their respective English classes, and it was delivered right to their room on Friday, Feb. 16. It was a great way to end the week before winter break!
This was a huge success, and the Class of 2027 paved the way for future freshman classes. A special thank you to the freshmen class officers who made this all come together – Gianna Rincon, Samantha Rubino, Leone Pitkewicz, Nicolas Losito and Molly Frank.
