Animal Club - Mrs. Neubauer

The Samoset Animal Club aims to introduce students to animals, how to 

take care of animals, and other interesting facts about animals.  Students 

will work with local shelters, have animal experts come talk to the students, and students will make toys for animals.


Art Club - Mrs. Stichweh


The art club is for any student who loves art.  Art club gives students an 

      opportunity to use various art mediums to create projects outside of a 

       formal class setting.



Board Game Club - Ms. Serra

The Board Game Club aims to promote cooperative game play through 

the use of board games.  The club is a platform to bring together students 

with an interest in board games, strategic thinking, and social interaction.  

Through the participation in the games, students can master new skills 

and concepts in an enjoyable way. 



Buddies Club - Mrs. Burns 

The Buddies Club aims to provide social activities for students both with 

and without disabilities.  Students will engage in different activities ranging 

from physical activities to card games and beyond.  The club will allow 

students an understanding of different disabilities and create positive 

friendships.


Chess Club - Mr. Saccullo

Come play the sport of kings!  The Samoset Chess Club aims 

to introduce new players to the game of chess and allow advanced players to compete against other students.  Participants will learn strategies and moves to improve their chess game.  






Coding Club - Mrs. Kalachik

The coding club aims to help students gain an understanding of basic 

  computer programming.  Students will gain problem solving skills and will 

build an interest in coding.  Students will have the opportunity to 

collaborate on projects, plan ideas, and set their codes in motion. 



Conversation Club - Mrs. Singh

The aim of the Conversation Club is to bring students together and focus 

on conversations based on real world application such as ordering food in 

the cafeteria, going to a grocery store, using money, etc.  Students will 

gain confidence in speaking practical English. 


Community Service Club- Mrs. Gallo/Ms. Trepiccione

The Community Service club looks to expose students to people who are 

disadvantaged socially, medically, economically, or otherwise.  Students 

will realize they can make a difference and develop awareness and a 

better understanding of both their school community and the community they live in.

  

Craft Club- Mrs. Kalachik & Ms. Miller

The aim of the Craft Club is to expose students to different projects and 

crafts. Students will be able to complete different projects to take home or put on display in the school.  Students will enjoy DIY projects and exploring their artistic expression through arts and crafts as well as socializing with their peers. 



Creative Writing Club - Mr. Richards

The Creative Writing Club aims for students to demonstrate the ability to 

read and analyze complex texts.  Students will demonstrate the ability 

to distinguish between literary works from various genres.  Students will 

demonstrate the ability to write creatively and aesthetically with clear 

purposes. 








Debate Club - Mr. Devine

The Debate Club gives students of all abilities a fun way of developing 

their advocacy and public speaking skills.  The club looks to encourage 

students to learn the details of skillful argument and apply these skills in actual student debates. The club could help students become more informed about political and global affairs. 



ESports- Ms. Hagenburg

The Samoset ESports (electronic sports) Club will engage students of all 

grade levels in different gaming consoles and activities.  Challenge your 

opponent in a game of your choice and have the opportunity to compete virtually.  Competition can be multiplayer or individual.  The ESports Club hopes to compete against other schools throughout the year.


Garden Club - Mrs. Grieve & Mrs. Migliozzi

The purpose of the garden club is to beautify the grounds of Samoset and 

make our school an inviting place.  Students will work together to work on the grounds of the school, weeding, and planting.  





Harry Potter Club - Ms. Borger

Calling all Potterheads!!! The Harry Potter Club aims to immerse students 

in the wizarding world of Harry Potter.  Students will discuss the books, watch the movies, and have conversations related to all things HP!.  The club will participate in different Harry Potter activities such as making butterbeer, playing trivia games, and competing in different Harry Potter tasks.  


Jazz, Rock, and Pop Club - Ms. Bennett

The jazz, rock ,and pop club is open to any student who would like to 

learn how to play jazz, rock, pop, and similar styles.  Specifically geared towards students who plan an instrument not usually found in a jazz band, such as flute, clarinet, tuba, violin, viola, cello, or have little or no experience playing jazz are encouraged to attend.  At least 1 year of instrumental music participation is required. 





 Jewelry and Hair Accessories Club - Mrs. Schuster

The Jewelry and Hair Accessories Club aims to bring students together to 

have fun creating beautiful jewelry and hair accessories.  Students will 

examine trends in jewelry, create designs and bring their ideas to life. 

Students will leave the club with their own handmade jewelry and 

accessories. 



Jr. Teen Social Club - Mrs. Burns

The aim of the Jr. Teen Social Club is to increase positive social 

interactions among students of all ability levels and increase social skills 

among young adults.  The advisor will create a safe place to gather 

afterschool and facilitate social interactions for middle school students of 

all abilities.



Lego Challenge Robotics Club - Mrs. Latkovich

The aim of the Robotics Club is to explore, build, program, and understand robots and the basics of robotics.  Students will get to work in groups on building and programming as well as using remote controls to move robots. 




Math Team - Mrs. Kurka

The aim of the Math Team is to support classroom learning and enrich 

students’ skills by developing higher order thinking.  Students will compete against one another and think outside the box with challenging math problems. Students will participate in problem solving activities, puzzles, games, and activities that teach math skills and promote logical thinking.


Mentoring Club - Mrs. Desmond

The Mentor Club will consist of students nominated by staff to act as 

mentors for other students. Mentees will be selected by staff or requested 

by parents. Mentors will provide support and guidance in 

both academic and social settings.  The club advisor will provide support to both mentors and mentees, check in with students regularly, and monitor progress.  Mentees will set goals, learn organization skills, and talk about any issues or problems they may be having.




National Junior Honor Society - Ms. Groe

The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is to recognize 

outstanding students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship.  Eligible students will be notified about the application process in their 8th grade year.  Students that get inducted will take part in monthly meetings and participate in various community service activities.


Page and Paper Turners Club - Mrs. Koferl

The purpose of the Page and Paper Turners Club is to read and enjoy literature with a purpose.  Students will expand their listening skills through paper folding activities.  The club will host book discussions, analyze books, and create origami designs to tell stories



Piano Club - Mr. Hedemark

The Piano Club promotes the interest of learning piano and computer 

assisted composition of music. 





Puzzle Club - Mrs. Fahie

Do you love to challenge your thinking? Do you love puzzles? If you 

answered yes to these questions then the Puzzle Club is for you.  

Throughout the course of the year students will work collaboratively or 

individually on a variety of puzzles.  Puzzles stimulate thinking and 

creativity along with increasing reasoning skills. Completed puzzles will 

go on display for the entire school to year your accomplishments. 



Renaissance Club - Mrs. Price

The Renaissance Club is an academic reward club honoring those hard 

working students that achieve high academic achievement in Samoset 

Middle School.  Entry into the club will be based on quarterly academic 

performance.  Students will receive rewards for GPA, attendance, and 

character. 






Scholastic Bowl Club - Mrs. Geick

The Scholastic Bowl Club will give students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in various trivia categories.  Scholastic Bowl Club will provide a friendly spirit of cooperation within a fair and semi-cooperative setting. 




Sound and Light Club - Ms. Bennett

The Sound and Light Club will introduce students to professional level 

sound and lighting equipment in a safe and creative way.  Students in the 

club will provide the sound and lighting for events held in the Samoset 

auditorium.


Special Olympics Club - Mrs. Amy

The Special Olympics Club will prepare students with disabilities for the 

2023 Spring Games. Students in the club will socialize with other students 

including both special needs students and general education students. Students will  increase their physical fitness levels while having fun with friends and classmates.  


Student Government Association - Mrs. Guzzo/Mr. Hanley

Members of the Student Government Association have a say in what 

happens in Samoset Middle School.  Students work closely with the club 

advisors to create and plan events for the students of Samoset. The SGA 

works hard to bring together the entire student body at various times 

throughout the school year. 


UpCycle Club - Mrs. Longhi & Mrs. Countiss

The purpose of the UpCycle club is to educate students about the 

importance of recycling objects throughout the community. Students will become environmentally conscious and understand the importance of recycling and how it affects the environment. Students will create recycled projects from household or community waste items. 








Woodworking Club - Mr. Cappellini

The woodworking and metalworking club will provide students with the 

opportunity to learn techniques using hand and power tools to create 

wood and metal projects.  Additional focus will be placed on reading and 

interpreting simple schematics and blueprints.  


World Language Club - Dr. Lamia

The World Language Club will explore and celebrate others cultures and 

languages from around the world. The club will host guest speakers, 

special events around the school, and fun activities to engage the student body.  The World Language Club will specifically be working with Italian, French, and Spanish cultures. 


Yearbook Club - Ms. Miller/Mrs. Kalachik

Students in the Yearbook Club will work closely with the advisors to 

photograph, layout, and distribute the yearbook to the student body of 

Samoset Middle School.  The Yearbook Club will work with all clubs and 

sports teams to photograph events taking place during the school year.  

Members of the yearbook club will capture all the memories of middle 

school.
