Social Studies Department

Welcome to the Social Studies Department! 

The Social Studies Department of Sachem East High School is composed of a dynamic group of educators who are dedicated to providing the highest quality of instruction to our students. Our mission is to provide all students with access to a strong foundation of historical knowledge that will allow them to become more engaged citizens in a participatory democracy. As a department, we utilize a variety of instructional techniques to provide all students with opportunities for success.

In order to meet those needs, in addition to the required courses necessary for graduation, our department offers an array of courses including several Advanced Placement courses that could result in college credit, as well as a rich selection of elective choices to allow students to explore a variety of interests. All of the course descriptions are contained in the guidance catalog.
