On Tuesday, Nov.6, the Sachem Central School District hosted a comprehensive Superintendents Conference Day, which included many professional development opportunities for staff and faculty members. 

As part of the daylong program, those in attendance chose sessions from a list of enriching topics that included an educational book talk with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Graham, mindfulness practices, math education, growth mindset, small-group literacy instruction, beginner’s yoga, social and emotional learning, a mindfulness dance class and the use of Google software.  

This year, harnessing the diverse educational expertise of teachers in the Sachem Central School District, the majority of the professional development sessions were led by Sachem teachers themselves, sharing their knowledge with their fellow staff members.
