On Aug. 27, the Sachem Central School District hosted a new teacher orientation program for 78 teachers and teaching assistants who will be joining the district for the 2019-2020 school year. 

To begin the informative program, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Graham welcomed the new educators and delivered remarks on the district vision. The educators were then introduced to district administration and members of the Board of Education. As the daylong orientation continued, those in attendance reviewed expectations for student achievement, instructional focus areas, classroom management techniques and building resources. 

The annual orientation program provided new teachers an essential opportunity to familiarize themselves with district policies and procedures, while creating valuable connections with fellow faculty and staff.
