An eccentric science showcase took over Samoset Middle School last school year as sixth grade students observed scientific experiments conducted with common household materials, led by Stephen “The Dirtmeister” Tomecek, founder of Science Plus Inc. and a former geologist. 

For the past 15 years, Tomecek has been returning to Samoset to deliver an engaging educational presentation which combines many science concepts students cover during the school year. 

As part of the hourlong presentation, students reviewed areas such as force, motion, energy and gravity while revisiting the ideas of famous scientists like Galileo and Isaac Newton.
