A collaborative effort from third-grade students at Chippewa Elementary School in Amy DeJesus’ class made for a successful STEM activity, as students worked together to assemble the tallest tower they could.

Working in teams, the third-graders discussed their designs before they began to assemble their towers using only the index cards provided. Throughout the activity students implemented problem-solving skills to overcome obstacles that affected their original designs.
