As an additional resource for students to alleviate stress during the COVID-19 pandemic, Sachem High School East school psychologist Dina St. Giles created an interactive area of calming materials to utilize throughout the year called the Virtual Calming Room.

The Virtual Calming Room contains a host of resources that may help promote a sense of calm and reduce stress. The available techniques found within the site are designed to reduce stress and anxiety when practiced.

The Virtual Calming Room is a place for students, families, faculty and staff to find tools to help learn some techniques or skills to manage or regulate emotions through a collection of links to YouTube videos and other websites with sensory information that can assist in managing emotions and feelings.
