It was a packed house during the Sachem Central School District’s Jan. 15 board of education meeting, as members of the board honored the Sachem Flaming Arrows marching band for conquering the New York State Field Band Conference Large School Division 3 championship title. 

The Flaming Arrows were led by band director Thomas Carroll, as they took the field at Syracuse University in October 2019 for the competition. The group of nearly 100 students claimed the state title with their flawlessly executed “RemiX” performance, which is an adaptation of Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 5.”

The district congratulates the band on this incredible and memorable accomplishment.
