Sachem Students Recognized for Prestigious Music Honors

On March 12, several talented students from the Sachem Central School District were honored at the Board of Education meeting for their selection to prestigious countywide honors ensembles. These students were chosen based on their outstanding performances in the New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) solo auditions, demonstrating exceptional skill and a strong commitment to their craft.

From across Sachem’s three middle schools, eight students were selected to perform in the Long Island String Festival Association (LISFA) honors orchestras, and 32 students were chosen to participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association (SCMEA) honors ensembles. Additionally, Matthew Rubenstein from Samoset Middle School was selected to join the SCMEA All-County Middle School Jazz Ensemble.
