A science teacher from Sachem High School East was recently published in The Career Development Quarterly, the official journal of the National Career Development Association. Richard Gearns published “School counseling practices related to postsecondary STEM participation.”
The article comes out of Gearns’ doctoral dissertation. This National Science Foundation-funded research took place over five years and included interviews from school counselors across Long Island, focusing on the roles they play in preparing students for careers in engineering.
