Students at Wenonah Elementary School picked up some train safety tips thanks to the MTA’s TRACKS program – Together Railroads and Communities Keeping Safe. A representative from the Long Island Rail Road visited the school on March 8 to educate students about the importance of safety at grade crossings, on platforms and on trains. Students also learned about the hazards that exist on or near the tracks. With trains running all across Long Island, it’s important for students to be aware of how to travel safely using the LIRR system.
