The Board of Education established the creation of the Harrison Frisenda Memorial Scholarship at its Feb. 8 meeting. Harrison Frisenda started at Waverly Elementary School as a kindergartener in 2019. He passed away in 2021 and left a lasting impact on the Waverly and Sachem community.

“Those who worked closely with Harrison described him as a student with a kind personality, a caring personality and a wonderful smile that lit up a room,” Waverly Principal Kevin Tougher said.

In addition to memorials at Waverly Elementary School, the scholarship honors Harrison’s legacy and will support current and future Sachem students.
