Merrimac Elementary School’s fifth grade classes are creating a culture of caring to kick off the school year. Each 5th grade class brainstormed ways that we care for ourselves, others, our school and community. These ideas were written by students on large letters to create the September bulletin board that hangs proudly in the building.
To enforce this culture of caring, students have participated in a number of collaborative activities. Fifth graders assisted their kindergarten buddies with writing their names, worked with classmates on their laptops to learn science vocabulary and helped their peers during an in-class activity. Merrimac fifth graders are excited for a wonderful year!
