Sixth grade students at Samoset Middle School recently participated in a study of energy in science class through a hands-on activity which explored kinetic and potential energy, friction and gravity.

As part of the activity, students utilized stock paper to construct roller coasters that they had to roll a marble down to reach a final destination at the bottom. Working collaboratively in groups, students utilized problem-solving techniques to achieve their goal.
