Seventh grade students at Sagamore Middle School recently have been exploring the life cycle of quail as part of a study that included an incubator holding eggs in the school’s library.

Over several weeks the eggs were held in the incubator for students to view before they hatched following spring break. The young chicks were then returned to Center for Environmental Education and Discovery to be released in the wild on Long Island.
