On Saturday, April 30, Seneca Middle School hosted a robotics competition between Seneca’s robotics team and Westhampton Beach Middle School’s robotics team.

Families, friends, faculty and students were all invited as spectators for the event. Each team worked all school year to complete the various modules on the field that correspond with this year’s FIRST Lego League theme, “Cargo Connect.”Seneca’s team edged out Westhampton Beach 1405-1385 in what was a tight match.

Coaches Heidi Michta and Michael Lundstrom couldn’t be prouder. “It was great to give these students a chance to demonstrate their efforts and teamwork in front of a crowd,” coach Michta said.

“We hope to be able to go to back to competing at the FIRST Lego League competition next year,”coach Lundstrom said. “We are grateful that we were able to host our own competition right here at Seneca this year.”
