Students at Waverly Elementary School in Susan Kinsey’s art class celebrated International Dot Day with bright and beautiful paintings inspired by “The Dot,” by Peter H. Reynolds.

Social and emotional learning chairperson Lauren Gonzalez visited the class to interview students about how the book made them feel, and students responded that they felt excited and that they could make better art.

The worldwide celebration of art is renowned for the positive message it shares about the teacher-student connection and how creativity and confidence in a student’s life are key.
