Hiawatha Hosts Virtual Career Day

Students in Class Talking Virtually To Professionals thumbnail187222
Hiawatha Elementary School students in Lori Onesto’s first grade class recently hosted a virtual career day showcasing careers available to students through several presentations from professionals in the field.

As part of the virtual career day presentations, students learned about different careers from a police officer, an electrician, an occupational therapist, a hospital transporter and educators in different subject areas. Students could ask the professionals about their occupations to learn more about each specific career.

As part of the comprehensive career day event, students participated in activities to further explore their skills and interests. Later in the month, students dressed up as a professional in a career they may want to pursue and shared facts about that occupation.
