The students in Mr. Heimann and Mrs. Hughes' 8th grade history classes at Samoset Middle School were engaged in a Transcontinental Railroad simulation to explore the hardships and successes of the Union Pacific Railroad and the Central Pacific Railroad. As the teams raced across the continent to Promontory Point, students gathered information to reflect on the experiences of all during Westward Expansion.
