Students at Sachem High School East kicked off homecoming weekend with a pep rally on Oct. 6. Sachem pride was on full display as students gathered in the gymnasium over the course of two different sessions. Fall season teams were individually introduced and welcomed into the gymnasium through a tunnel of cheerleaders.
Not only was the student body was encouraged to attend the homecoming football game against Connetquot the following day, football players, cheerleaders and Arrowettes visited some of the elementary schools earlier in the day to get younger students excited about the weekend.
Due to the weather, the community carnival before the game on Oct. 6 was canceled. The Sachem High School East football team put up a fight, but despite their best efforts, the team lost to Connetquot.
