District Art Shows

Artwork on Display at Art Show thumbnail246922

Student-artists across the district have been displaying their work in art shows at their buildings throughout the month. At the elementary level, art teachers proudly displayed hundreds of pieces of art in creative ways throughout the buildings.

Meanwhile, High School East celebrated its 12th annual art show in the Joseph B. Taylor Memorial Gallery. In preparation for the show, students learned how to frame and hang artwork using the gallery's walker hanging system and worked in teams to set up the showcases leading up to the gallery.

The evening commenced with The National Art Honor Society’s induction ceremony and concluded with the art exhibition. Families listened to vocal performances by Ms. Dominic’s talented choir students as digital art and animations looped in high-resolution on the smartboard. Additionally, senior student Eve Danziger did an excellent job teaching children how to create small origami butterflies.
