Congratulations to Sachem High School North for earning its way into the national semifinals in the Euro Challenge! The Euro Challenge is an international competition focused on European economic and monetary policy. It gives participants the opportunity to learn about the euro, the single market and other important concepts central to the European Union and macro and microeconomics. Schools from across the country recently competed in nine regional brackets.

This year’s Sachem North team accepted the challenge of solving the climate crisis in the nation of Finland. Students recommended policies to allow this nation to “go green.” They gave 15-minute presentations to judges over two rounds, each followed by difficult 10-minute question-and-answer sessions. Students defended their policy recommendations and discussed economic data.
