History and technology came together to inspire students in Mrs. O’Shea’s fifth grade class at Lynwood Avenue Elementary School as they worked on a unit on early civilizations and created their own ancient pyramid.

As part of the project students studied the location, culture, religions, governments, advancements and fall of the Aztec, Inca and Maya civilizations. With the support of technology integration specialist Ms. Haas, the students learned how to use a computer program called Tinkercad to create and design their pyramid. Once their creations were complete, they were printed on the 3D printer to bring their visions to life.
