Seneca Student’s Kindness Shines Through Sock Drive Effort

Seneca eighth grade student Nicholas Golding and over 1,200 Donated socks thumbnail208611
During October, Seneca Middle School students participated in an event called Socktober. Every day, students brought in socks to donate to the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.

One student in particular took this challenge and exceeded the original goal of obtaining at least 200 pairs of socks. Seneca eighth grade student Nicholas Golding has a passion for helping those who are less fortunate and in need. Nicholas used the power of social media and spread awareness to his family, friends and community members to get help and was able to collect over 1,200 pairs of socks. To date Seneca has collected over 1,500 pairs of socks for people of all ages, thanks to Nicholas and Seneca students and their families.

All donations, including fundraising efforts from the Baking for Change Club, will be donated to Long Island Coalition for the Homeless.
