Wenonah Students Ask Insightful Questions Through Literary Learning

Students at Their Computers thumbnail208308
Students at Wenonah Elementary School in Mrs. Kay’s fifth grade class have been learning to identify the different questions to ask when reading a story to gather essential information.

As part of the English activity students practiced asking thick or thin questions. Thick questions are those that require more thought and thin questions are those for which not much additional effort is required. During the lesson students applied their knowledge of thick and thin questions to their independent reading to help better understand what they are reading.
