Save the Dates: Sachem Family Connect Nights
📅✨ SAVE THE DATES! Sachem Families, mark your calendars! This year, we’re proud to host Family Connect Nights — evenings dedicated to what matters most: time together.
📘 Teachers will not be assigning homework on these nights, so we encourage families to spend time together doing something they enjoy.
Some suggested activities include:
🍽️ Sitting down for an uninterrupted family dinner
🎲 Playing a board game or doing a puzzle
🚶♀️ Taking a walk or enjoying the outdoors
📚 Reading together or sharing family stories
📵 Disconnecting from devices — Disconnect…to connect
Each family can choose how they want to spend this special time. The goal is simple: enjoy being together. ❤️

Waverly Avenue's Historic Boulders Tells Us a Historic Story
🌟 DID YOU KNOW? Waverly Avenue Elementary isn’t just one of our oldest school buildings; it’s also home to a unique slice of American history!
🇺🇸 On the front lawn between the building and the road stand three special boulders that each tell a unique story:
1️⃣ In 1932, an elm tree and a boulder were placed to honor the 200th birthday of George Washington.
2️⃣ One marker notes that the elm tree next to the rock is a descendant of the one planted at the White House by President John Quincy Adams in 1826.
3️⃣ And in 1976, the Waverly Avenue PTA dedicated a boulder to celebrate America’s bicentennial.
Let’s continue to embrace our Sachem history! #WeAreSachem
