Forever Linked: Sachem Senior-Kindergarten Walks Bring Generations Together

Two generations of Sachem students shared a meaningful milestone on Tuesday, October 6, as Sachem High School East and Sachem High School North held their senior-kindergarten walks.
The events brought graduating seniors together with kindergartners from their respective feeder schools - the same elementary schools where many of those seniors began their own educational journeys. It was a sentimental passing of the torch, connecting students preparing to leave Sachem with those just beginning to discover all it has to offer.
For seniors, greeting the district’s youngest learners offered a chance to reflect on how far they have come since their own first days of school. For kindergartners, the walks provided a glimpse of the students they will one day become and a welcoming introduction to the larger Sachem family.
With one generation looking toward graduation and another taking its first steps in the classroom, the day captured the lasting connection at the heart of the Sachem community. Although their experiences are years apart, these students share the schools, traditions and sense of belonging that make up their Sachem DNA.
As this year’s seniors prepare for their next chapter, they leave behind an example for the newest generation to follow—a reminder that being part of Sachem extends far beyond any single school year.
