The Sachem community approved the district’s 2026-27 budget Tuesday night, while also voting in favor of Proposition 2 supporting the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society and electing three members to the Board of Education. 

Proposition 1, the district budget, passed with 1,633 yes votes to 824 no votes, totaling 2,457 ballots cast.

Proposition 2, supporting the Lake Ronkonkoma Historical Society, also passed with 1,375 yes votes to 1,219 no votes, totaling 2,594 ballots cast.

In the Board of Education election, incumbent trustees Rob Scavo and Matt Baumann both won re-election, while Paul Sapienza was elected to the board.

District leaders thank the Sachem community for its continued support and investment in students, staff and educational opportunities.
