Sachem North and Sachem East DECA Students Qualify for Nationals at Statewide Career Conference
Students from Sachem High School North and Sachem High School East recently showcased their business knowledge and leadership skills at the DECA Statewide Career Conference in Rochester, New York, earning multiple honors and securing spots at the national competition.
The annual conference brings together students from across New York State to compete in a variety of business and marketing events.
Participants demonstrate their expertise through rigorous written exams and role-play scenarios judged by business professionals. Top performers earn the opportunity to advance to the international level.
This year, three Sachem students qualified for the DECA International Career Development Conference, which will take place in Atlanta, Georgia.
Leading the way were:
• Khrystyna Tomenchuk (Sachem East) – 6th Place overall, Top 10 Roleplay 1 Medal, Top 10 Overall Medal
• Pon Aaranik Arand Raj (Sachem North) – 7th Place overall, Top 10 Test Medal, Top 10 Overall Medal
• Keya Pai (Sachem East) – 7th Place overall, Top 10 Roleplay 2 Medal, Top 10 Overall Medal
Several other Sachem students also earned recognition for their strong performances during the competition:
• Ved Talsania – Top Ten Role Play #1 Medal
• Prakhar Drabia – Top Ten Role Play #2 Medal
• Joe Golden – Top Ten Test Medal
• Aarya Pai – Top Ten Test Medal
Adding to the excitement of the event, Shrey Sheth walked away with a brand-new Apple Watch as a prize.
The achievements highlight the dedication, preparation, and talent of Sachem’s DECA students, who continue to represent their schools with excellence in business and career-focused competitions. The three national qualifiers will now prepare to compete against top students from across the country at the international conference in Atlanta later this year.
