Waverly Elementary’s fifth-grade band and orchestra students took their learning beyond the classroom today, attending a special schools-only Young People’s Concert at the New York Philharmonic in Lincoln Center. 

This year’s program, “Music for America,” celebrates the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States, giving students a powerful look at how music helps tell the story of our nation. 

The trip was organized by Waverly music teachers Stew Terzopoulos and Danielle Holmes, who continue to create memorable, real-world learning experiences that inspire students to connect history, culture, and the arts.
