On February 4, Sachem celebrates the strength, leadership, and impact of women and girls in sports. Last year, Sachem launched an annual tradition to recognize this moment, honoring the past and empowering the present.

This year, we’re proud to spotlight our current young women leaders in athletics. The student-athletes featured on the graphic were selected by their varsity coaches as role models who lead by example, compete with heart, and inspire those around them every day. 

This poster will be mounted at both Sachem East and Sachem North.

Additionally, the Sachem Athletic Department, in partnership with the Sachem Alumni Association, will help facilitate the selection of a program and a ​former Sachem athlete as a "number of recognition," so that Sachem student-athletes can wear the numbers of legends who came before as a reflection of leadership, sportsmanship, and tradition.

Sachem has a long legacy of incredible female athletes and coaches, and that legacy is still being written.
The future is now. And it’s strong.
