Sachem Education Foundation Awards $25,000 in Inaugural Grants
The inaugural Sachem Education Foundation (SEF) grant recipients were announced at the most recent Sachem Board of Education work session, marking a new investment in innovative, student-centered projects across the district. SEF, a 501(c)(3) led by community members, donated $25,000 to support initiatives that will launch during the 2025–26 school year.
Funding was generated from SEF’s inaugural gala held last spring. Sachem teachers and staff applied for grants over the summer, and the SEF Grant Committee - comprised entirely of volunteer community members - reviewed submissions and selected recipients based on several criteria focused on student impact and feasibility.
