Sachem East Science Researchers Earn Regional and State Honors
Sachem East High School’s science research students continue to shine on the regional and state stage, earning recognition for their innovative projects this spring.
Vindya Sree Chennamshetti and Aarav Sehgal were honored at the 2025 Long Island Science Congress, held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City. Their research project, “Use of Bacteriophage T4 and Trichoderma to Enhance Antibiotic Potential Against E. coli,” earned Honors in the highly competitive showcase.
In addition, Maxwell Benimoff received Honorable Mention at the 2025 New York State Science and Engineering Fair, Andromeda Division, for his project, “Sand to Soil: Amending Sand with Biochar, Cellulose, and Clay to Increase Soil Fertility.”
