The Sachem Central School District welcomed 45 new educators during new teacher orientation on Aug. 29. The teachers, teaching assistants and support staff gathered at the administrative building where they were welcomed by district leaders.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Christopher Pellettieri officially welcomed the group into the Sachem family and spoke to the new educators about the importance of creating a culture of care throughout Sachem. Additionally, Board of Education President Robert Scavo addressed the teachers and empowered them to be an inspiration to their students.

Following the opening remarks, the teachers participated in presentations from several administrators regarding student achievement, guidance practices, technology training, special education, athletics and the district’s mentoring program to prepare them for the upcoming year.
