Students taking sports and entertainment management classes at Sachem High School East recently visited Citi Field, home of the New York Mets. Students toured the stadium and learned about the many things other than baseball that take placed there. Throughout the tour, they saw the different types of clubs and suites, restaurants, vendors and other amenities available to different types of ticket holders. Students even got to walk onto the field, sit in the dugout, visit the control room, press box and the Mets Hall of Fame Museum.

Students learned all about the behind-the-scenes management, marketing and the enormous operating costs that go into running a first-class professional sports venue. The trip opened their eyes to the many career opportunities involved with sports and entertainment management.
