The Sachem Academy recently welcomed back Officer Mueger from the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD) for an engaging and impactful discussion on the challenges surrounding alcohol use and peer pressure among young people.

During her visit, Officer Mueger spoke candidly with students about the importance of making responsible choices and standing up for what’s right. She emphasized being a concerned citizen, a good friend, and a responsible young adult, especially when faced with difficult social situations involving alcohol.

Students learned valuable strategies for recognizing when someone may need help and how to intervene or seek assistance safely. Officer Mueger reminded them that they are never alone and encouraged them to reach out to trusted adults, parents or guardians, and the SCPD when faced with challenging circumstances.

The SCPD remains a vital partner to the Sachem Central School District, providing ongoing educational support and presentations throughout the 2025-2026 school year. The district expressed gratitude for the department’s continued dedication to student safety and well-being.
