The Sachem Public Library recently visited Tamarac Elementary School for a week of hands-on, STEAM activities. The library provided materials to create different stations for students of all grade levels to rotate through, each focusing on science, technology, engineering, art or math. Students made magnet-block creations, drew on Osmo tablets, used straw connectors, built Legos and drove robots.

The activities allowed students to collaborate with one another while developing their creativity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills outside the typical classroom setting.
