At the Oct. 26 meeting of the Sachem Board of Education, members of the board were recognized for their countless volunteer hours and dedication to Sachem students.

In honor of School Board Recognition Week, which is celebrated from Oct. 17-21, community organizations including the Sachem Central Teachers’ Association, Sachem Administrators Association, Sachem Supervisors Association, Parent Teacher Association, Sachem Clerical Unit and Sachem Nurses Association, all took time to address the Board. These organizations each made donations in the name of the Sachem Board of Education to local nonprofits as a way to express their gratitude for the continuous contributions the Board has made to the Sachem Central School District.
