The Sachem girls’ gymnastics team has won a League II championship for the first time in six years and finished the regular season with an undefeated campaign.

The Flaming Arrows will compete in the Suffolk County team championships on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. at Connetquot High School.

“We are all very excited and proud of what the team has accomplished this year,” Sachem coach Jan Zettwoch said.

A number of girls also qualified for the individual Suffolk County championships on Friday, Nov. 8 at 4 p.m. at Babylon High School.

Only the top 30 girls per event in Suffolk County qualify for this meet, so it’s quite an accomplishment. Sachem has four student-athletes competing: Summer Matlat (floor exercise), Riley McPartland (all-around), Lillian Noriega (vault, uneven bars, balance beam) and Samantha Woodburn (uneven bars).

Good luck to all of our student-athletes competing at their upcoming events. #GoArrows
