Sachem Spirit on Display for Homecoming

Sachem Spirit on Display for Homecoming thumbnail228319

Sachem spirit was on display across the district ahead of homecoming on Oct. 8. Leading up to the big games at Sachem High School East and North, both schools celebrated with a spirit week that culminated with pep rally on Oct. 7 in the afternoon.

Both student bodies gathered at their respective football fields to cheer on fall student-athletes. As each team was introduced and ran out onto the field, students cheered in the stands. The football teams were brought out last, building up the excitement for Saturday’s homecoming game.

In addition to pep rally, Sachem High School North held its first homecoming tour. The football team, cheerleaders and Arrowettes traveled by bus to some of the district’s elementary schools to show off their Sachem spirit. Students lined the hallways as the fight song played overhead, wishing the teams the best as they headed into the weekend.

The energy carried over to Saturday, where both high schools held community carnivals ahead of kick-off. Sachem North pulled off a homecoming win against Bay Shore, with a final score of 35-7. Despite their best efforts, the Sachem East team lost to Commack 28-21.
