Volume and technology created a perfect pair during a recent activity at Waverly Avenue Elementary School, as fifth grade students in Emily Cole’s class utilized the Tinkercad design program to create structures of a certain volume.

With assistance from technology integration specialist Keri Haas, students used Chromebooks and Tinkercad to design an object that added to a specific volume. Using different size cubes, students made changes and adjustments until their designs were perfect.

Concluding the monthlong project, students used a 3D printer to turn their digital designs into physical creations, showcasing their precise volume calculations.
