Sachem High School East senior Ryan Meehan has been selected to present his research at the American Chemical Society’s Spring 2020 National Meeting & Expo, Mar. 22-26 in Philadelphia.

Ryan’s presentation, “Reduction of carbon monoxide poisoning in proton exchange membrane fuel cells via application of gold/ruthenium nanoparticle monolayer,” has very important implications for alternative energy solutions. The research targets fuel exchange and optimizing fuel cells for efficiency.

Ryan began his research over the summer at the Garcia Center for Polymers at Engineered Interfaces at Stony Brook University with two students from Nevada and Massachusetts.
