Louann Cronin : Library Media Specialist

Welcome to the Waverly Avenue Elementary School Library where the joy of reading and the pursuit of lifelong learning are celebrated. Library and research skills are taught within curriculum related topics. Literature genres and exemplary children's authors are emphasized.

My primary goal is to teach children that the library is an exciting place to learn, imagine, and grow. I strive to help children become independent users of the library so they will know how to locate information easily. It is my hope that children will take their new found knowledge; apply it, be creative, synthesize and analyze- and then make new knowledge for themselves.

Dear Students,

You may borrow one book or magazine for a period up to two weeks. If you finish your book or magazine, you do not have to wait the entire two weeks to get something new to read. Just ask your teacher for permission to visit the library to select a new book or magazine. You can also come to the library to do research and to use the computer.
