This year, the Sachem District will again be providing= an extended day Music program. By having the music performance groups after school at the 4th &= ; 5th grade level, the students spend more time in their classroom.
Our plans call for your child to attend one CHORUS reh= earsal each week to be held either Monday or Thursday afternoon from 2:30 – = 3:30 pm., according to the Chorus Calendar.&nbs= p; Two weeks before the concert, ALL students will be required to attend both rehersals each week (please c= onsult calendar which is attached).
At the end of each rehearsal, your child will be dismi= ssed to the buses or be picked up or to walk-at the main entrance. It should be noted that the bus stop may not be your child’s regular bus stop since we are providing several trunk runs for the extended day activity. Attached you will find an Extended Day Route list for these stops. If your child walks home be aware = that school crossing guards are not available at this release time. Please reinforce safe walking habi= ts with your child. If you are p= icking them up, please make every effort to be on time.
If the supervising staff member is absent on a day when after-school Music groups are scheduled, the students will be sent home at = the regular time (2:30 pm). Since= we are not able to make notification to all parents in these instances, it is advised that you make arrangements with your child regarding what procedure= he or she is to follow.
